Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD)
An intervention conducted by the EAP with the employees directly
affected by a traumatic event such as a death of or an injury to a
co-worker. This proven intervention lessens the likelihood of employees
having long lasting negative effects from what they have experienced.
Death of a Co-Worker
An intervention similar to CISD, provided to employees when a
co-worker has died from illness or injury outside of the workplace.
To access these services:
- Contact us by telephone at 602-264-4600 or 1-800-327-3517,
describe the situation: who, what, when and where.
- Decide where you would like the CISD conducted, at your site
or at our facility. If on-site, provide a location away from the scene
and secure from interruptions.
- Ensure that employees are relieved of duties or will not be
interrupted to workplace demands during the CISD.
- Provide management personnel or employer representatives to
be present and conduct the initial part of the CISD.
